Woohoo! 48 New Coaches for MRT 3 will arrived in the middle of the year 2015! Well, I guess, it is something that we can celebrate in the acquisition of MRT 3 by the government. Yeah, you read it right, it is additional 48 coaches from the 72 coaches that MRT 3 had as of now though it 72 coaches is not 100% up and running, others have serious technical and mechanical issues that needs to deal with. Well, it is still 48, whatever the number, it is still, can alleviate commuter’s agony.

With said arrival of 4 dozen coaches from abroad, it will shorten the waiting gap of passengers waiting for the next coach. At present, the average waiting is 10-15mins and sometimes, 20-30mins. Thus, at the time the new coaches arrived and it is fully operational and functional, I believe, average waiting time can be reduced to 5-10 minutes! I really hope so and I am looking forward for it next year. At least, we can have something we can look forward to. I just hope and pray that the new management, which is our government, will do the right way of implementing this and managing MRT 3 effectively and efficiently.

As DOTC Secretary Joseph Abaya said to The Daily tribune, We purchased 48 coaches. MRT 3 had originally 72 coaches I think. That makes it 120 though some are down. (I’m) not sure how many. Will check.”

With that said, I am expecting that travelling from North Avenue Station to Buendia Station and vice versa will be less than 30mins on which waiting time is included already. I can no longer wait to attest that. I am just a wishful-thinker-commuter and taxpayer.

  1. I wish they just bought the coaches that are similar to LRT 2. I like that one big and wide and spacious or maybe they look the same but MRT is always packed so it looks so small.

  2. Hoping that this MRT3 buyout could really solve the problems of the train system along EDSA. Moreover, the government must manage this train operation according to its standard required by all Filipinos. You know, the wanted to manage with organized tasks to all employees and management of the MRT3.
