Richard Yap
Richard Yap conquers
Philippine music scene as he serenades his music fans via ‘easy listening’
debut album. For the lead actor Richard Yap of “Be Careful With My Heart,” who
is well known by TV viewers as “Ser Chief,” it is a dream come true because he
always wanted to sing when he was a kid. He also thrilled and at the same time
thankful to their teleserye because
through their official soundtrack, people discovered that he can sing and now
he already had a self-titled debut album under Star Records. The carrier single
of the album "Don't Know What To Do, Don't Know What to Say" is one
the tracks that has a feel-good, easy listening vibes that were chosen by
Richard Yap himself.
During the press conference
last Friday, September 26, held at Palacio de Maynila, Ser Chief gave us a
sample of his singing talent; please do watch the video below.
Richard, who grew up
listening to the music of Queen, Barry Manilow, Kenny Rogers, Hall and Oates,
Phil Collins, and Mike Francis, feels no pressure getting compared with other
talented singers in the country as he believes that everyone has different
musical choices for different target audiences. With that said, his album
covers all genres, from pop to ballad to alternative that would surely be
appealing not only to fans of his age group but also teens and in-betweens.
Featured in Richard’s
solo debut album are revivals of:
.:. Promise Ain’t Enough
.:. Think I’m in Love Again
.:. Can Find No Reason
.:. You Take My Breath Away
.:. Chasing Cars
.:. High
.:. Afterglow
